    Robert

I just listened to your first Podcast and it was great. Incisive, informative and all the other adjectives that go along with giving some valuable information. I loved what you said about social media and not caring so much about how many LIKES you get.
You are so right about Cream Always Rises To The Top. It’s being in something that you are passionate about for the long haul, not some quick fad. Other photographers sometimes inspire me, but when I shoot, it’s what I want to shoot. A location and subject that draws me in I stay with for some time if the lighting is what I’m looking for. Otherwise, I’ll make a note of where I am and come back at a different time of day when I think the light will be more what I’m looking for. You need patience and in this fast pace, social media world, there seems to be very little of that.
When I make prints as I did in the old darkroom…I make test prints. Usually, I will make a print in 4×6 or 5×7 on with my Epson 2800. When it looks great, then I go for the bigger sizes in 11 x 14, or 13 x17. This the way to save on ink and paper.

Once again I have to say the weekend printing workshop I took with you last summer was a great learning experience and the lunches you provided were great as well.

Keep up the good work you are doing and I know this podcast series will be quite successful.

    Robert,

Excellent Podcast! Your comments are so true and authentic from my own experience in Film including 4×5 the past few years and also going into the digital realm. I have a Canon Pro 10 I purchased this past summer and love it. I do calibrate my Mac with X-Rite’s i1Studio and have made printer profiles also as a means of experimenting. Along with all this I recently purchased a Canon 10mm – 18mm lens which I am going to experiment with when the winter weather breaks. Thanks so much for your tips!!
